故事开始于上世纪五十年代末，上海支边青年冯志远（张嘉译 饰）告别了新婚妻子，来到宁夏腾格里沙漠的鸣沙中学。由于该地自然条件恶劣，许多支教的老师悄悄离开了，冯志远没有走，他一个人承担起四门课的教学任务。家境的贫困让学校三分之二的学生辍学在家，冯志远逐个登门做工作，使部分孩子回到了学校。一晃二十多年过去了，长期超负荷的教学令冯志远视力急剧下降。终于，在1985年的一天，正上课的冯志远瞬间暴盲，进入到一...
